  • Seth Gordon, the director of the video game documentary King of Kong and the upcoming Horrible Bosses, is boarding the remake gravy train. He will be in the seat for the remake of Wargames, the rare remake that actually seems to make sense. MGM will release the remake of the Matthew Broderick starring WWIII thriller, but no date is set yet. (Source: Deadline)
  • While Fatal Attraction meets Facebook sounds awful, when you mention the fact that it’s written by Mark Heyman, who wrote Black Swan and produced by Darren Aronofsky, the whole subject seems much more palatable. The film, XOXO, follows a “twentysomething man who meets a female contemporary on Facebook and begins a digital relationship with her, only to find the object of his affections take the relationship to an obsessed and stalker-y place.” So sort of like those horrifying phone commercials. The script is currently shopping for a buyer. (Source: LA Times)
  • Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World will be in smellovision. Well, technically it’s called Aromascope, but seriously? Anyway, the film will be in the now-seemingly-standard 3D, but Director Robert Rodriguez has decided that as you enter the theater, you’ll be handed what amounts to a scratch and sniff card. During particular scenes, scrape a nail across one of the eight scents on it and voila! You’re right there, smelling whatever gimmicky thing is required. This isn’t the first time this has been attempted, with smelly entertainment going back as far as 1906. Somehow however, I don’t see it catching on. (Source: USA Today)
  • Emma Stone may be fighting zombies again. The thesp is reportedly looking into taking the lead in the upcoming adaptation of the bestselling Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. The book by Seth Grahame-Smith has been adapted, and will be directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) with Natalie Portman producing. UPDATE: Minutes after I posted this, Deadline has the scoop that she has passed on the role. Sorry folks. (Source: THR’s Heat-Vision Blog)
